Background

Globalization and the digital industry revolution 4.0 are determinant of the rapid and widespread change in the world of life, which then raises a paradoxical phenomenon. On the one hand, it can be an opportunity and on the other hand it can be a threat to the world of life. The global disruptive phenomenon, the dominance and hegemony of Western culture towards the East, revivalism, marginalization of at risk groups, resistance of the subaltern groups to the status quo, dissemination and protection of women and children, sustainable development, etc. are interesting and relevant issues to be discussed in this scientific seminar.

The Doctoral Program in Cultural Studies at Udayana University, which carries a critical paradigm in implementing the Tridharma function (education, research, and community service) will hold the 5th year of an international seminar with the theme "Towards the Development of Trans-disciplinary Research Collaboration in The Era of Global Disruption". In connection with that, we invite researchers, lecturers, students, and stake holders to participate in this conference.

With this in mind, the 5th International Conference on Cultural Studies seeks to bring together academics, researchers, lecturers, stakeholder, and students to exchange knowledge, experiences, and research results on new approaches or interdisciplinary approach of many aspect of human life. In addition, through this international conference, it is hoped that it can also increase the publication of research results and open opportunities for collaboration between researchers, between lecturers and stakeholders, between universities and research institutions and other related institutions, both overseas and in Indonesia.
